Waldo
County, Maine
(WGN
19-14-c) (WGCB ME-14-c): (Date
built unknown) A single-span non authentic Stringer truss footbridge
on dry land beside a unnamed pond. Located: Between Albion,
Maine and Unity, Maine Directions: From Albion, Maine take
US 202 east. The bridge is on the left side of US 202 in a field
beside a unnamed pond. The footbridge features
arched supports which causes the wooden deck to "arch" like a Humpback
bridge. The illusion is further enhanced by curved hand rails.
The roof, however, does not have the same "arch" so it is not a true Humpback
structure. Only the portals are covered with vertical boards and
it has a wood shake roof. (May 2006) |
