Campton-Blair Covered Bridge
Hillsborough County, New Hampshire 
New Hampshire No. 41 (WGN 29-05-09) (WGCB NH-05-09):  (1869; rebuilt 1977) A two-span Long truss, with Burr arches, 292' 10" over the Pemigewasset River.  Located:  North of Livermore Falls, New Hampshire on Blair Road in Campton, New Hampshire.  Directions:  0.3 mile East of I-93, exit 27 on Blair Road.  The first bridge at this site was built in 1829 at a cost of $1,000. That bridge was burned down by Lem Parker who claimed that God told him to do it.  Parker, who confessed to the charge, was found not guilty because there were no witnesses.  A sign was posted on the bridge indicating there was a fine of five dollars for riding or driving on the bridge faster than five miles per hour. Rebuilt by Milton Graton and his son Arnold in 1977 at a cost of $59,379.  It is is eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places.  (Sep 2003)
