Corn Crib Covered Footbridge

(WGN 29-06-j) (WGCB NH-06-j): (1978) (Private)  A two-span Stringer truss footbridge 12' 2" over a drainage ditch.  Located:  In Mason Township, New Hampshire, west of West Brookline, New Hampshire at Parker's Maple Barn and Sugar House, 1316 Brookline Road.  Directions:  From Milford, New Hampshire at the intersection of SR 13 and SR 101, go south 6.1 miles on SR 13 (1.0 mile past the jct. with SR 130) to Mason Road on the right, follow Mason Road 3.0 miles (becomes Brookline Road at the Mason town line) to Parker's Maple Barn at No. 1316 on the left.  The bridge is located between the Parker's Maple Barn and Sugar House restaurant and The Corn Crib gift shop.  Although on private property, access permission not required.  Its architecture somewhat resembles a corn crib.  There is a ramp at each end that is uncovered.  Weathered vertical boarding covers the sides and portals.  Thick longitudinal boards form the floor in the covered section with crosswise planks forming the flooring on the ramps.  The roof is covered with moss covered cedar shingles and plank benches extend along each side of the interior.  Also known as the Maple Sugar Restaurant Covered Bridge.  (Sep 2007)
