Folklife Festival - Traveling Covered Footbridge

(WGN 29-02-o) (WGCB NH-02-o): (1999) A single-span Town lattice truss 32' on dry ground in front of the Heritage Museum. Located: In Glen, New Hampshire. Directions: From intersection US 302 and SR 16, take SR 16 north to the Heritage Museum on your right. A information sheet inside the bridge states "Usually the Road Goes over the Bridge.... This is probably the most traveled bridge in America. On it's journey from the Graton's Ashland, New Hampshire construction site to the Mall in Washington D.C. and then back to Heritage, in Glen, New Hampshire, the bridge logged about 1600 miles. The trip from Glen to Hopkinton and back will add another 250 miles to the bridge's travel." It was on display on the Washington Mall from June 23 1999 to July 4, 1999. (Oct 2003)
