Henniker-New England College Covered Bridge

New Hampshire Number 63  (WGN  29-07-12) (WGCB NH-07-12): (1972)  A single span Town lattice truss 136' 7" long with a clear span of 114' 6" over the Contoocook River.  Located:  In the town of Henniker, New Hampshire on the New England College Campus off US 202.  Directions:  About a mile south of jct. US 202, SR 9 on SR 114 then right 0.l mile and left 0.2 mile to the bridge.  The bridge is on the campus of the college.  Constructed built by Milton Graton and his son Arnold in 1972 at a cost of $80,000.  It serves New England College and the community of Henniker as a footbridge across the Contoocook River. Although the bridge was constructed to replicate the traditional style of covered bridges, it has not yet reached the 50 year age criteria to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  (Sep 2002)
