Jack-O-Lantern Resort Covered Footbridge
Grafton County, New Hampshire
New Hampshire  (WGN 29-05-18) (WGCB NH-05-18):  (c. 1986) (Private) A single-span Town lattice 75' over a pond. Located: South of Woodstock, New Hampshire at the Keating Country Club. Directions: 0.3 mile south of I-93 at exit 30 on the east side of US 3 at Keating Country Club. Visible to the right from upper club house parking lot. In 1878, a town lattice truss covered bridge was built in the village of Woodstock spanning the Pemisewasset River. It connected East Side Road which is now SR 175, with Lower Woodstock Village. It was a single-span bridge, and the last of four built in the town. It was destroyed by fire in 1971. Rebuilding the bridge proved to be too difficult, so the owners of the Resort decided to build a replica on the Golf Course. The bridge is located between the number eight green and the number nine tee box. The bridge was built at a railhead and, in October 1986, was brought north by special train and put in place on the golf course. A authentic covered bridge in every respect, except that it cannot accommodate regular automobile traffic. (Sep 2003)
