Pratt truss, 125' over Bowman Branch. Located in Bedford, New Hampshire.
Directions: Northeast of jct. US 3 and SR 101 at the Quality Inn
at the Wayfare Convention Center. The structure is built into and
is an integral part of the motel and provides a walkway over Bowman Branch
to reach the convention center. The bridge's Pratt truss is
on the outside while the interior is finished like the rest of the motel's
corridors. From the outside, the casual observer would probably not
recognize the structure as an authentic covered bridge, but merely a "covered
walkway" between two buildings. (May 2005) |
