Aline Covered Bridge
Snyder County, Pennsylvania
(WGN 38-55-04)  (WGCB PA-55-04)(1884)  A single-span Burr arch truss 69' 11" over the North Branch of the Mahantango Creek.  Located:  On a bypassed section of Aline Church Road (TR 333), Aline, Pennsylvania, between Chapman and Perry Townships.  Directions:  In Aline, Pennsylvania, just southwest of the jct. of SR 104 and Aline Church Road (TR 333).  It was bypassed in 1982 by a new bridge over the creek.  The bridge is now used only for foot traffic.  The structure has no steel reinforcements and It rests on stone and mortar abutments, which have been reinforced with concrete and has low, stone and mortar wing walls.  It is covered with barn red vertical board and batten siding on both the sides and the portals.  The roof is metal, and the deck, consists of runners down the cneter of the bridge laid over crosswise planking.  The only openings in the bridge run under the eaves.  Also known as the Meiserville Covered Bridge.  It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on August 10, 1979.  (Sep 2006)
