(WGN 38-60-04)  (WGCB PA-60-04)(1880; deck replaced 1992)  A single-span Queenpost with Kingpost truss 68' 1" over White Deer Creek.  Located:  On Gray Hill Road (TR 514), White Deer, White Deer Township, Pennsylvania.  Directions:  In White Deer, Pennsylvania, from the jct. of SR 1011 and SR 1010, go west on SR 1010 for 1.6 miles to Gray Hill Road (TR 514).  Turn left (south) on Gray Hill Road (TR 514) for 0.1 mile to the bridge.  The posted load limit for this bridge is thirty one tons except with combinations then it is 36 tons.  The average load limit for a covered bridge is between two and five tons.  This high limit was made possible by placing eight large I-beams under the deck of the original structure.  These I-beams rest on concrete reinforcements to the original stone and mortar abutments.  The structures original low stone and mortar wing walls still stand behind heavy steel guardrails.  The bridge is covered with vertical board and batten siding, painted white on the portals and barn red on the sides.  It has a sheet metal roof and the deck is covered with lengthwise planking.  The only openings are the lengthwise ones under the eaves.  The deck was replaced in 1992.  Also known as the Horsham Covered Bridge.  It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on February 8,1980.  (Sep 2006)
