Flickinger Mill Covered Bridge
 Perry County, Pennsylvania
(WGN 38-50-03)  (WGCB PA-50-03)  (1871)  A single-span multiple Kingpost with Burr Arch 106' 1" over Sherman’s Creek.  Located:  On Red Rock Road (TR 397), 1.5 miles south of Andersonburg, Southwest Madison Township, Pennsylvania.  Directions:  In Andersonburg, Pennsylvania, at the jct. of SR 274 and SR 3005, go south on SR 3005 for 0.5 mile to Madison Road (TR 399).  Turn right on Madison Road (TR 399) and go 0.85 mile to Red Rock Road (TR 397); turn left on Red Rock Road (TR 397) to the bridge.  It is covered with barn red, weather-beaten, vertical boards on the sides and vertical boards with batten on the portals.  It has a corrugated metal roof and a deck of lengthwise planking laid over crosswise planking.  The structure rests on concrete abutments with short, road-level, stone and mortal wing walls on the north end only.  The Burr arches sandwich a multiple Kingpost truss.  The bridge was damaged during the June 28, 2006 flood and is currently undergoing repairs.  There is a plaque mounted on the portal indicating the bridges name as "Bistline Bridge."  However, when the World Guide Number was assigned it was known as the "Flickinger Mill Covered Bridge"with a alternate name of the "Bistline Covered Bridge."  Also known as the Flickinger's Mill Covered Bridge.  It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on August 25, 1980.   (Sep 2006
