Forksville Covered Bridge
Sullivan County, Pennsylvania
(WGN 38-57-01)  (WGCB PA-57-01)(1850)  A single-span Burr arch truss 163' 3" over Loyalsock Creek.  Located:  On Bridge Street, Forksville, Pennsylvania.  Directions:  In Forksville, Pennsylvania, along SR 154, look for the bridge on Bridge Street.  The street directly across SR 154 from the bridge, is Huckle Street, not Bridge Street.  The bridge has a lot of traffic since it is the shortest route from SR 154 to the general store in Forksville, Pennsylvania.  It is covered with barn red vertical board siding on both the sides and the portals.  It has a sheet metal roof and a deck of very narrow crosswise planks.  It is heavily reinforced with steel girders.  The structure rests on stone and concrete abutments and has three long, narrow windows on the north side and four on the south side and lengthwise opening under the eaves.  It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on July 24, 1980.  (Sep 2006)
