Henry Covered Bridge
Washington County, Pennsylvania 
(WGN 38-63-16)  (WGCB PA-63-16)  (1881)  A single-span Queenpost truss 45' 4" over Mingo Creek.  Located:  In Mingo Creek County Park, just northeast of Kammerer, Nottingham Township, Pennsylvania.  Directions:  Approximately 1 mile east of Kammerer, Pennsylvania, at the jct. of SR 136 and Chapel Hill Road (the park access road), go north on Chapel Hill Road for 0.65 mile.  Turn right on the park road (Mingo Creek Road) and go 0.4 mile to Parkview Road.  Turn right on Parkview Road and go 1.3 miles to Mansion Road; turn right on Mansion Road to the bridge.  Although well known in Washington County, little is known of its actual origin.  The structure has vertical board siding on both the sides and portals, is painted barn red inside and out and has a tin covered gable roof.  It has two square windows located on the sidewalls as well as the narrow eave openings.  Its deck is crosswise planking and it has a moderate length stone and mortar wing walls capped with concrete.  The bridge has been reinforced with five steel "I" beams that rest on the concrete abutments.  It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on June 22, 1979.  (Oct 2005)
