Hillsgrove Covered Bridge
Sullivan County, Pennsylvania
(WGN 38-57-02)  (WGCB PA-57-02)A single-span Burr arch truss 185' 7" over Loyalsock Creek.  Located:  On Covered Bridge Road (TR 357), northeast of Hillsgrove, Pennsylvania.  Directions:  Between Hillsgrove, Pennsylvania and Loyalsock Creek from the jct. of SR 97 with Splash Dam Road (TR 359), go north for 0.1 mile to Covered Bridge Road (TR 357).  Turn left to the bridge.  The bridge has vertical board and batten siding on the sides and vertical board without battens on the portals.  It has a sheet metal roof and very narrow crosswise planking for the deck.  It has three narrow windows on the south side and two on the north side, in addition to the lengthwise openings under the eaves.  The structure rests on stone and mortar abutments which have been reinforced with concrete, and there are no parapets.  Also known as the Rinkers Covered Bridge.  It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on July 2, 1973.  (Sep 2006)
