Johnson Covered Bridge
Columbia County, Pennsylvania 
(WGN 38-19-37)  (WGCB PA-19-37)(1882)  A single-span Queenpost truss 61' over Mugser Run.  Located:  On Cleveland Road (TR 320), just east of Knoebels Grove Amusement Park, Cleveland Township. Pennsylvania.  Directions:  From Knoebels Grove Amusement Park, follow Pine Swamp Road (TR 337) east for 0.7 mile to Cleveland Road (TR 320), turn right (south) for 0.1 mile to the bridge.  Built at a cost of $799.00 it was named after Adam M. Johnson, a farmer in the area, who also owned a boot and shoe store near the site.  The structure rests on concrete abutments and has short stone and mortar wing walls on one end and concrete wing walls on the other, with parapets that rise just a bit above road level.  Its roof is sheet metal, and the deck has runners laid over crosswise planking.  Also known as the County No. 28 Covered Bridge.  It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on November 29, 1979.  (Apr 2006)
