Jud Christian Covered Bridge
Columbia County, Pennsylvania 
(WGN 38-19-25) (WGCB PA-19-25)  (1876; new roof and painted 1998)  A single-span Queenpost truss 52' 3" over Little Fishing Creek.  Located: On Ardens Hill Road (TR 685), approximately 5.4 miles northeast of Sereno, Pennsylvania between Pine and Jackson Townships, Pennsylvania.  Directions:  From the Sam Eckman Covered Bridge (WGN 38-19-08), continue northeast on Sereno Road (SR 4031) for 1.9 miles to Arden Hill Road (TR 685).  The bridge is immediately to the right (east) on Arden Hill Road (TR 685).  It was named after a nearby farmer and lumberman Jud Christian and was built at a cost of $239.00.  The bridge is in near perfect condition; the stone and mortar abutments are solid, wood ribbing of the roof is uniform, wooden trunnels are still in evidence, and the wall covering is in excellent condition.  The bridge has a relatively short Queenpost truss.  It has board and batten siding and a  metal roof.  The wing walls extend only to road level and the  deck consists of runners laid over crosswise planking.  It was given a new sheet metal roof and painted in 1998 by the Township Maintenance Crew.  Also known as the Jud Christie Covered Bridge and the County No. 45 Covered Bridge.   It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on November 29, 1979.  (Apr 2006)
