Mercer County, Pennsylvania
(WGN 38-43-01) (WGCB PA-43-01)(1868; restored 1990)  A single-span Smith truss 125' 4" spanning Shenango River.   Located:  On bypassed Reynolds Industrial Park Road (SR 4012), between Victory Station and Reynolds Heights, Pymatuning Township. Pennsylvania. Directions: Just north of Victory Station, Pennsylvania at the jct. of SR 18 and Crestview Drive, go southeast on Crestview Drive for 0.8 mile to Reynolds Industrial Park Road (SR 4012). Turn left on Reynolds Industrial Park Road (SR 4012) and go 0.3 mile to the bridge. It is located in a park-like setting on the right side of the road.  This is the only covered bridge remaining in Mercer County. It is also the only bridge in Pennsylvania with a Smith truss. It was restored in 1990. The structure rests on stone and mortar abutments on the south side and stone abutments laid dry on the north side and the abutments extend to road level wing walls on each end.  It is covered with unpainted 12" vertical boards and battens on both the sides and the portals open under the eaves for ventilation.  There are 2 parallel window openings near the center on both sides.  The deck consists of runners laid over diagonally positioned planking. However, the runners do not extend over the entire length of the deck, stopping short of the east end.  It has a sheet metal roof that projects beyond the entrances to provide additional weather protection for the interior.  It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on December 2, 1974.  (Oct 2008)
