(Private) A single-span non authentic Stringer truss footbridge 7'
on dry land. Located: On Esther Furnace Road (TR 373), northwest
of Slabtown, Cleveland Township, Pennsylvania. Directions:
From the Davis Covered Bridge (WGN 38-19-16),
continue on Queen City Road (TR 377) for 1 mile to a “T”, turn right for
0.2 mile to Esther Furnace Road; turn right for 0.2 mile to the Esther
Furnace Covered Bridge
(WGN
38-19-20). The bridge is on your
right just after crossing the Esther Furnace Covered Bridge
(WGN
38-19-20) and prior to the house at 46 Ester
Furnace road. It is covered with red painted vertical
board siding and portals and features one window on each side. The
portals are trimmed in white and there are openings under the eaves.
Its decks consists of crosswise planking and a asphalt singled roof.
Although a sign over its portal declares the opening is 4' feet, it appeared
to be slight stretch. The structure is really
a miniature covered bridge. (Apr 2006) |
