Mood Covered Bridge

(WGN 38-09-07 #2) (WGCB PA-09-07 #2)(2008)  A single-span Town lattice truss 120' 3 " over the East Branch of Perkiomen Creek.  Located:  On Blooming Glen Road, on the northeast edge of Perkasie, East Rockhill Township, Pennsylvania.  Directions:  In Perkasie, Pennsylvania, go north on North Fifth Street to the jct. with Callowhill Road (traffic light at the jct.), turn left on Callowhill Road to a four way stop sign, then left on Branch Road then left on Blooming Glen Road (one way through the bridge) to a parking area on the left.  There is some controversy as to the bridges name.  The World Guide of Covered Bridges lists the bridges name as Mood.  The Covered Bridges of Pennsylvania book, given out by the state, lists the bridges name as Mood's Mill with a alternate of Branch.  The original 1873 structure burned down June 23, 2004.  It was rebuilt in 2008.  The structure rests on the original stone and mortar abutments, and has long stone and mortar wing walls capped with concrete.  It has red painted vertical boarding on the sides with white painted vertical portals and splash panels.  The portal has a angled opening.  The deck consists of crosswise planking and it has a shake roof.  Also known as the Mood's Covered Bridge and the Branch Covered Bridge.  (Jun 2008)
