Mount Pleasant Covered Bridge
 Perry County, Pennsylvania
(WGN 38-50-12)  (WGCB PA-50-12)  (1918)  A single-span Kingpost with Queenpost truss 73' 2" over Sherman’s Creek.  Located:  On Mt. Pleasant Road (TR 391), Mt. Pleasant, Jackson Township, Pennsylvania.  Directions:  In Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania, at the jct. of SR 274 and Mt. Pleasant Road (TR 391), go south on Mt. Pleasant Road (TR 391) for 0.35 mile to the bridge.  It has a Kingpost truss sandwiched between two Queenpost trusses.  Its faded barn red sides and white trimmed portals are covered with narrow, vertical, tongue and groove boards, and the roof is metal.  the deck consists of lengthwise planking laid over crosswise planking.  The structure rests on concrete abutments and has road level stone and mortar wing walls covered with concrete.  The bridge has been reinforced with steel. There is a plaque mounted on the portal indicating the bridges name as "Mt. Pleasant  Bridge."   It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on August 25, 1980.   (Sep 2006)
