Plant's Covered Bridge
Washington County, Pennsylvania 
(WGN 38-63-26)  (WGCB PA-63-26)  (1876)  A single-span Kingpost truss 34' 1" over the Templeton Fork of the Wheeling Creek.  Located:  On Skyview Road (TR 408), approximately 2.5 miles west of East Finley, East Finley Township, Pennsylvania.  Directions:  In East Finley, Pennsylvania, at the jct. of SR 231 (East Finley road) and Rocky Run Road (SR 3035), go west on Rocky Run Road (SR 3035) for 1.3 miles to Fairmount Church Road (TR 450).  Turn right on Fairmount Church Road (TR 450) and go 0.1 mile to Skyview Road  (TR 408).  Continue straight on Skyview Road (TR 408) for 1 mile to the bridge.  Or from the Sprowl's Covered Bridge (WGN 38-63-03), continue northeast on Rocky Run Road (SR 3035) for 0.3 mile to Fairmount Church Road (TR 450).  Turn left on Fairmount Church Road (TR 450) and go 0.1 mile to Skyview Road (TR 408); continue straight on Skyview Road (TR 408) for 1 mile to the bridge.  A rather short Kingpost truss structure with its sides and the portals covered with vertical board siding on both sides and portals,   Both its interior and exterior are painted barn red.  The bridge has a sheet metal roof, a deck of crosswise planking and two rectangular windows on each side, as well as the eave openings.  It has stone and mortar abutments that extend into short wing walls and relatively low parapets.  The structure is supported entirely by the Kingpost truss system.  It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on June 22. 1979.  (Apr 2005)
