restored 1991) A single-span multiple Kingpost with Queenpost truss
55' 3" over Wildcat Creek. Located: On the bypassed section
of SR 1005, approximately 1.5 miles west of Liverpool, Liverpool Township,
Pennsylvania. Directions: In Liverpool, Pennsylvania at the
jct. of SR 17 and SR 1010 (just west of jct. of SR 17 and US 11/15), go
south on SR 1010 for 1.3 miles (SR 1010 turns after 0.2 miles) to SR 1005.
Turn right and go 0.2 mile to the bypassed bridge. The bridge has
been bypassed by a new highway. The bridge was restored in 1991.
A local, retired mason rebuild the stone and mortar wing walls and parapets.
The multiple kingpost truss is sandwiched between two queen post trusses.
It is covered with barn red vertical boards and battens on the sides and
horizontal clapboard on the portals. While most of the bridges
in Perry County have only white trim on the portals, the portals of this
bridge are completely white, The bridge has no windows, the roof
is covered with sheet metal, and the deck is laid in a diagonal herringbone
pattern. The structure rests on stone and mortar abutments that extend
to moderately long wing walls and fairly low parapets. It was listed
on the National Register of Historic Places on August 25, 1980. (Apr
