1999) A single span Burr arch truss 99' 5" over Big Elk Creek.
Located: On Camp Bonsall Road (TR 307), between New London and Elk
Township, Pennsylvania. Directions: From the jct. of Lewisville
Road (SR 472) and Camp Bonsall Road (TR 307), approximately 0.7 mile southeast
of Peacedale, Pennsylvania, go east on Camp Bonsall Road (TR 307) 0.7 mile
to the bridge. The structure sustained heavy damage to its siding
in the floods of the 1999 hurricane season, but repairs were made soon
after the flood waters receded. It was built, at a cost of $1,440.00,
near the site of a paper company operated by the Rudolph and Arthur Families.
The stone and mortar abutments, wing walls and parapets cost $890.00.
The bridge is covered with white, vertical board and batten siding on both
the sides and the portals. It is open under the eaves for ventilation.
The floor consists of horizontal boards and it has a shake roof. It was
listed on the National Register of Historic Places on December 10, 1980.
