Brownlee Covered Bridge
Washington County, Pennsylvania 
(WGN 48-63-E)  (WGCB PA-63-E)  (2001) (Private) A single-span non authentic structure consisting of a post supported roof above a stringer truss 15' over a pond outlet. Located: West of West Middletown, Hopewell Township, Pennsylvania off SR 844. Directions: SR 844 west 0.7 mile from jct. with College Street in West Middletown, Pennsylvania to the bridge on the south side of the road 0.1 mile up a private driveway. Note: If you come to the jct. of SR 844 and SR 231 you have passed the bridge. The bridge was built and is owned by the owner of the Brownlee Trucking Company. The roof structure is not an integral part of the stringer truss. The sides of the roof truss are covered with unpainted small round logs to waist height and it has a green painted metal roof. The stringer rests on concrete abutments and its deck consists of narrow horizontal boarding. Also known as The SR 844 Covered Bridge. (Oct 2005)
