Snook's Covered Bridge
Bedford County, Pennsylvania 
(WGN 38-05-23)  (WGCB PA-05-23)  (1880; rehabilitated 1993-1994)  A single-span Burr arch truss 80' 6" over Dunning Creek.  Located on Fish Hatchery Road (TR 578), approximately 1 mile north of Spring Meadow, East St. Clair Township, Pennsylvania.  Directions:  From the Bowser Covered Bridge (WGN 38-05-22), continue on Covered Bridge Road (TR 575) for 2 miles to a “T” with Gordon Hall Road (TR 574).  Turn right on Gordon Hall Road (TR 574) and go 0.6 mile to Fish Hatchery Road (TR 578).  Turn left on Fish Hatchery Road (TR 578) and go 0.3 mile to the bridge.  The structure was rehabilitated in 1993 and 1994.  The bridge is covered with white vertical boards on the lower two thirds of the sides and red trim.  On the inside, the lower one-third is covered with horizontal boards.  The portal gables, which overhang the vertical supports by several feet, are covered with wide, white horizontal boards and the deck has lengthwise runners laid over crosswise planking.  Its roof is covered with corrugated metal.  The structure rests on refurbished stone faced abutments extended to road level wingwalls.  It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on April 10, 1980.  (Apr 2005)
