Located: On Newland School Road (TR 450), 1.5 miles southwest of

and Burnsville Ridge Road (SR 3035), go northeast on Burnsville Ridge Road (SR 3035)
for 0.7 mile to Rocky Run Road (SR 3035) (there is a white Presbyterian
Church at the crossroads). Turn right on Rocky Run Road (SR 3035)
and go 4.1 miles to Newland School Road (TR 450). Turn right and
go 0.1 mile to the bridge. Or in East Finley, Pennsylvania, at the

on Rocky Run Road (SR 3035) for 1.6 miles to Newland School Road (TR 450);
turn left and go 0.1 mile to the bridge. It is covered with vertical
board siding on both the sides and the portals. The structure has
a sheet metal roof, a deck of crosswise planking, and two square windows
cut into each side in addition to the narrow, lengthwise openings under
the eaves. It is painted barn red on both the inside and outside
and rests on stone and mortar abutments reinforced with concrete.
It has stone and mortar wing walls and parapets that are capped with concrete.
The bridge is located in a secluded, rural valley on a gravel township
road. It was closed in 2000 due to damage done by mining operations
in the area when the truss structure was severely twisted, and rather wide
cracks were developing in the abutments. When photographed on April
28, 2005, the bridge had been repaired and reopened to vehicular traffic. It was listed on the National Register of Historic
Places on June 22, 1979.
