Turner's Covered Bridge
Bedford County, Pennsylvania 
(WGN 38-05-19)  (WGCB PA-05-19)  (1892)  A single-span Burr arch truss 86' 4" over the Rayston Branch of the Juniaya River.  Located on Faupel Road (TR 418), midway between New Buena Vista and Manns Choice, Harrison Township, Pennsylvania.  Directions:  From the jct. of SR 31 and Allegheny Road (SR 96), between Schellsburg and Manns Choice, Pennsylvania, go west on Allegheny Road (SR 96) for 2 miles to Faupel Road (TR 418).  Turn right and go 0.4 mile to the bridge which is still open to vehicular traffic. It was scheduled for restoration, however, the allocated monies were redirected to the Hewitt Covered Bridge (WGN 38-05-26), which was in greater need of repairs.  The structure is covered on the lower one-third of the sides with vertical boards outside and horizontal boards inside.  Its roof is sheet metal, and the deck has runners laid over crosswise planking.  The structure rests on cut stone abutments that have been reinforced with concrete.  There are no wingwalls.  Also known as the Turner Covered Bridge, the Reystown Covered Bridge and the Diehl Covered Bridge.  It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on April 10, 1980.  (Apr 2005)
