Columbia County, Pennsylvania
(WGN 38-19-18) (WGCB PA-19-18)  (1884)  A single-span multiple Kingpost with Burr arch truss 108' over Little Fishing Creek.  Located:  On Covered Bridge Drive, north of Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania between Hemlock and Mt. Pleasant Townships, Pennsylvania.  Directions:  At the jct. of SR 42 and Covered Bridge Drive, approximately 4 miles north of Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania on SR 42, go east on Covered Bridge Drive for 0.2 mile to the bridge.  Built at a cost of $500.00.  The structure is named after John Wanich who was a farmer that resided nearby.  The structure rests on stone and mortar abutments with stone and mortar wing walls and  parapets.  The deck consists of runners laid over a herringbone deck pattern.  The Burr arch sandwiches a multiple Kingpost truss.  There are openings under the eaves, and  a window on both the north and south side.  They are positioned at mid-wall height so anyone on the bridge can see approaching traffic.  The bridge is covered with vertical boards on both sides, and the portals painted barn red.  The parapets on the east end have been replaced with concrete sometime prior to 2000.  It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on November 29, 1979.  (Apr 2006)
