over unnamed tributary of Stony Brook. Located: SW of Northfield
Center, Vermont on Chamberlin Road. Directions: From jct. SR
12 and SR 12A in Northfield Center, Vermont, take SR 12A south 1.6 miles
just beyond a railroad overpass make a right on Stony Brook Road.
About 0.3 mile after the turn onto Stoney Brook Road the road forks.
Take the left fork 0.6 miles and go through the Mosley Covered Bridge
(WGN 45-12-07) and continue for 1.9 miles
to Chamberlin Road on the right; turn right (north) onto Chamberlin Road,
and go 0.8 mile to the bridge on the right. On private property so
ask permission to visit. The bridge is to the right of the road,
beside a house. It has been recently renovated and most of the original
yellow-and-white paint has been replaced with new wood. A Eagle now
adorns the roadside portal. The date the renovations were made is
unknown. Its main use, at present, seems to be as a walkway, wood
storage area and access to buildings behind the house. It is covered
with vertical boarding on the sides and white painted vertical boarding
on the portals. The deck has crosswise planking and lengthwise runners
and the roof the roof is covered with standard roofing shingles.
