Cornwall-Salisbury (in Cornwall, Vermont) or Salisbury-Cornwall (in Salisbury, Vermont) Covered Bridge
Addison County, Vermont 
(WGN 45-01-01)  (WGCB VT-01-01):  (1865; modified 1969; repaired 1992; new roof 2002) A two-span Town lattice truss 153' 6"  over Otter Creek.  Located:  SE of Cornwall, Vermont on Swamp  Road at the Salisbury, Vermont Town line.  Directions:  From jct. SR 4 and SR 30 , go 3.2 miles on SR 30, make a left on Swamp Road 1.7 miles to the bridge.  It is also the widest spaced plank lattice covered bridge in Vermont (3' 10" vs 3' average).  In 1969, as part of a renovation project, a pier was erected in midstream to provide additional support to the long structure.   Prior to the addition of a center pier in 1969, it was the longest single span Covered Bridge in Vermont.  Jan Lewandoski made repairs to the truss and chords and replaced the bedding timbers under the chords at the abutments at a cost of $50,000.00 in the winter of 1992.  In the summer of 2002, at a cost of $25,000.00, some roof boards were replaced and a green painted standing seam steel roof was installed replacing the previous corrugated metal roof.  Its floor has diagonal planking with two lengthwise runners.  Gray weathered vertical boarding covers the sides to the eaves, as well as the weather panels inside the entrances and the portals.  Other historical names for the  bridge include: The Station Covered Bridge, the Creek Road Covered Bridge, the Cedar Swamp Covered Bridge, and the Otter Creek Covered BridgeIt was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on September 10, 1974.  (Sep 2004)
