Flint Covered Bridge
Orange County, Vermont 
(WGN 45-09-11)  (WGCB VT-09-11):  (1845; restored 1969; new roof 2002)  A single-span Queenpost truss 87' 4" over the First Branch of the White River.  Located: NNE of North Tunbridge, Vermont on Bicknell Hill Road. Directions:  From jct. SR 113 and SR 110 in Chelsea, Vermont, take SR 110 3.2 miles south then left 0.7 mile on Bicknell Hill Road to the bridge.  The bridge is located near the Justin Morgan Historic Site.  The oldest of the six bridges along a 7-mile stretch of SR 110.  Restored in 1969 when cable and stringer floor supports were added and the foundations capped with concrete raising the structure 2' for improved drainage.  At the same time new siding was added as well as rebuilding the ends of the structure which increased its camber.  A new steel roof was installed in 2002 which included the replacing of all the roof boards.  Also known as the Justin Morgan Covered Bridge (named for nearby farm of Justin Morgan, who owned the stallion from which the Morgan horse breed descended) and the North Tunbridge Covered Bridge.  It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on September 10, 1974.  (Sep 2004)
