truss 68' over the East Branch of the Passumpsic River. Located:
North east of Lyndonville, Vermont off Burrington Bridge Road. Directions:
From the jct. US 5, SR 122 and SR 114 north of Lyndonville, Vermont, take
SR 114 1.6 miles then right on Burrington Bridge Road 0.1 mile to the bridge
on the right. The Murray Hill Road that crossed the bridge has all
but disappeared and is now covered with grass. The bridge was bypassed
in 1965 and is closed to motor traffic but still used as a footbridge and
part of a snowmobile trail. The structure rests on poured concrete
abutments with wing walls. Dark weathered vertical boarding
covers the sides to just above rail height, and red painted vertical boarding
covers the portals and rusty corrugated steel covers the roof. It
is also known as the Burrington Covered Bridge, the Old Burrington
Covered Bridge, the Lang Covered Bridge and the Sawmill Covered
Bridge. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on
