TACKETT'S MILL Covered Bridge

(WGN 46-73-b) (WGCB VA-73-b):  (1984) Non Authentic Modern Covered Footbridge. A five-span Stringer footbridge 71' 9" long over Tackett Creek.  Located:  West of Occoquan, Virginia in the Tackett's Mill Shopping Center off Harbor Drive in Prince William County, Virginia.  Directions:  From Woodbridge, Virginia at the Junction of US 1 and SR 123 (Gordon Boulevard), go north on SR 123 to left on SR 641 (Old Bridge Road).  Follow SR 641 1.5 miles to left onto Harbor Drive.  Take Harbor Drive 1 block to Tackett's Mill Shopping Center, on the right. Go into the shopping center, bearing left to the lower parking lot.  The bridge is beyond the left corner of the parking lot.  At 71' 9" long and 12' 9" wide, it is the longest and the widest non authentic covered footbridge in Virginia. Crossing Tackett Creek, which has been dammed to form ponds at each side of the bridge.  The covered bridge provides access between the shopping center and office buildings at the far side of the ponds.  It is also known as Tackett Village Bridge.  (Jun 2003)
